CBC News  Posted: Feb 10, 2017 10:46 AM PT| Last Updated: Feb 10, 2017 1:29 PM PT A  man who was arrested last fall in connection with the death of a Japanese student has been charged with second-degree murder, Vancouver police announced Friday.警察発表（金曜日）＝第二級殺人で犯人を起訴。
RCMP arrested William Victor Schneider, 49, on Sept. 28, 2016, in Vernon, B.C, the same day police discovered the body of Natsumi Kogawa in a mansion in Vancouver's West End.
Kogawa, 30, was reported missing on Sept. 12, 2016. Her body was discovered at building known as Gabriola Mansion, a historic building on Davie Street.
Friends last heard from her on Sept. 8. She was the subject of a high-profile missing persons campaign. Kogawa had come to Vancouver to study English.

Police confirmed last fall that Schneider was the man seen with Kogawa in a widely-distributed surveillance photo.
At the time of his arrest last fall, Schneider was charged with indignity to a human body.
Crown Counsel has now approved the more serious charge of second-degree murder against Schneider, Vancouver police said in a statement.（王国参事官は被告に対する一層重大な「第二級殺人」で裁くことを認可）He remains in custody（拘留は続いている）.

Shortly before 7 p.m. on September 28, 2016, Vancouver Police discovered Kogawa’s body on the property of a Davie Street mansion near Nicola Street. She had been reported missing on September 12, 2016.Schneider was arrested by the RCMP in Vernon, B.C., on the same day that Kogawa’s body was located. At the time, he was charged with indignity to a human body. Crown Counsel has now laid an additional charge of second-degree murder. He remains in custody. 【明報專訊】涉及去年日本ESL學生古川夏好(Natsumi Kogawa)被殺案的49歲男子施奈德(William Victor Schneider)，被加控一項二級謀殺罪名。
去年9月28日晚上，警方在溫市中心西端戴維街(Davie St.)靠近尼古拉街(Nicola St.)的百年古屋發現古川夏好的屍體，她於去年9月12日被報失。警方在調查該名日本女生失案時，曾發出拍攝到古川夏好與施奈德交談的保安錄像。法庭文件顯示，施奈德案底纍纍，自1998年至今，曾被控持武器行劫、偷竊以及違反假釋限制等多項罪名。他曾因持械行劫被定罪，能說日語，在古川夏好的屍體被發現同一日，施奈德於維農(Vernon)市的一個公園被捕，並被控對屍體不敬罪。警方經進一步調查及向檢控部門提交報告後，檢控部門最終加控他一項二級謀殺罪名。施奈德目前仍在羈押中。（死体遺棄（恥辱＝不敬罪）第二級殺人で告発）
消息稱，施奈德在溫市期間曾住在甘比街(Cambie St.)的一間民宿，古川夏好則時常與朋友到豪街(Howe St.)的一間咖啡館參加學習英語的聚會（近所の「社会施設」（シェルター？）に宿泊。コーヒー屋・喫茶店で「英語学習」に名を借りて被害者に声をかけた（となるはず）。
